The year 2009 has just started and the Philippines are in for a tight time as well as the entire world. With the economic meltdown, US recession, RP government controversies, terrorisms, internal conflicts, many economic analysts foresee the further fall of the international market bond this year. Great start for the New Year, right?

This global crisis has worsened the Philippines crisis situation. As a matter of fact, we can be shown in the famous TV program, “Worst case scenario”.

The decline in cash remittances and export incomes from the OFWs will cause fewer resources for our country’s production, development and consumption. If this will continue to happen, will we still hold firm to our belief that the Overseas Filipino workers are our modern heroes? Think.

These problems will push more Filipino people to march in the streets and air their demands for stable jobs, decent wages, acceptable government services, and respect for their human rights. Will Pres. Gloria Macapagal- Arroyo hear their clamor for a better tomorrow? That remains as the unanswerable question.

How can these cries be heard if the Arroyo regime is too bothered for the upcoming 2010 elections or the ever famous Charter change in order to prolong her unwanted rule? Can we still have a better tomorrow or just die waiting for that tomorrow to come?

One thing is for sure, we, the Filipino people, still have the key to make things straight, to make things right. We should remain alert, we should widen our creativity in this tough time, we should work more, and we should extend our patience to the government officials since we have no one to be blamed except ourselves because we are the ones, who put them to office, remember?

The best thing that we can do is love like a mother, teach like a teacher, preach like a pastor, create like an inventor, heal like a doctor, and hope like a child. With that, for sure our better tomorrow will come in haste.

We just have to wait and think louder.
